Design description and 3D render

The inspiring design for our show garden was developed by Melbourne-based landscape designer Jim Fogarty, who has won many awards at Australian and international garden shows – including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Find out more about Jim at Jim Fogarty Design.

Here’s a taste of what to expect from The Australian Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show:

The Australian Garden at the 2011 RHS Chelsea Flower Show tells of the metaphorical journey of water from Australia’s arid outback, eastward through the rivers and gorges to the urbanised and more humid east coast of Australia. A wall sculpture represents the never-ending sand dunes of the outback, while a rusted steel gorge wall and water cascade depict the inland river gorges of Australia, where water provides life for plants in an otherwise hostile environment. A pebble path within the garden depicts a dry river bed, and a water feature, in the bold shape of a hunting boomerang highlights the strong cultural significance of that symbol. All of the plants in the garden are Australian native plants, including twelve rare and threatened species.

…and here’s what it will look like! This 3D render of Jim Fogarty’s design has just been released, making you, our loyal readers, among the very first to see it!
